Eye in the sky

Eye in the sky - a bird's eye view of earth

What does the world look like to a bird? From the time of Icarus, humans have wanted to stretch their wings to view the panorama of landscapes from high above. Yahoo! reader MITHUN BASAK did better – he compiled for us a gallery of images from around the world. All of these photographs were taken from high vantages – ultralight aircrafts, hot-air balloons, choppers, skyscrapers, hilltops, observation towers and cable cars. Get high and giddy on these inspiring images!

I was traveling to Coral Island in Gold Coast, Australia. A seagull flew by and I saw it from the window of the cruise liner. I reached the topmost deck of the ship and took the picture.

Mithun Basak is a engineer by profession and a traveler-photographer by passion. His interests include landscapes, nature, wildlife and architecture.
